Here is where it shows up in real life: you spend forty minutes reading restaurant reviews, pick one, and feel vaguely uncertain all through dinner. A satisficer sets criteria first, like "good reviews, within walking distance, has availability tonight," takes the first place that fits, and moves on. The outcome is usually the same. The experience of getting there is better.
The trap is confusing satisficing with settling. It is not lowering your standards. It is deciding your standards before you start, which is the part most people skip.
Try it today: Name one decision sitting on your plate. Write down three criteria it must meet. Commit to taking the first option that clears all three, and do not re-open the search after that.
